Diet and nutrition hold a central place in Ayurveda, with food considered the primary source of strength and immunity. This certificate
program offers systematic training in Ayurvedic dietetics, Ahara Vidhi, digestive physiology (Agni), food classifications, functional foods,
and diet-disease relationships. Participants learn how to design therapeutic diets suited to individual constitutions, clinical conditions,
seasons, and lifestyle patterns. The course helps bridge the gap between classical dietary wisdom and the demands of modern clinical
practice.
Course Content
Foundations of Ayurveda & Nutrition
- Basic concepts and philosophy of Ayurveda.
- Understanding Aahaara, Aahaara Vidhi, and classical dietary preparation guidelines.
- Dietary descriptions and food classifications from Aacharya Charaka, Sushruta, and Vagbhata.
Advanced Dietetics
- Viruddhaahaara (dietetic incompatibility) – types, mechanisms, and clinical relevance.
- Daily dietary guidelines according to Aacharya Charaka.
- Diet planning based on season (Ritu), geography (Desha), and individual strength (Bala).
- Diet–disease correlations and therapeutic dietary interventions.
- Concepts related to Agni, metabolism, and digestive function.
Practical Nutrition Applications
- Classification of foods according to Ayurveda and modern science.
- Food processing methods and culinary techniques.
- Functional foods & therapeutic herbs.
- Clinical diet planning for various disorders.
- Integrating contemporary nutrition science with Ayurvedic principles.
- Case-based dietary analysis and practical diet chart preparation.
Lifestyle & Preventive Approaches
- Yoga asanas that support digestion, metabolism, and immunity.
